Welcome & History

Welcome to Taino Beach Resort & Clubs. Surrounded by clear blue sea, white powder beaches and lush tropical landscaping, our Resort offers privacy, intimacy and charm. Besides our beautiful private beach, we have a lagoon style pool with waterslide, waterfalls, caves, lazy river and swim up bar.

Take a leisurely Ferry boat to busting Port Lucaya Marketplace to shop or to dine. Slide, swim and linger on our Lazy River, or take a plunge on our 100 foot slide at Grand Bahamas’ largest waterslide pool. When you have had enough sun and fun, have a tropical drink in our poolside Grotto Bar! Check out the sea life in a Glass Bottom boat, rent a wave runner, enjoy a sunset cruise, catch that big fish, hop on a banana boat, enjoy a beach bonfire, rent a bike or scooter, kayak or paddleboat, and so much more.

Whether you want a romantic getaway, family fun, adventure, or just to slip away from it all, it’s all in reach at Taino Beach Resort & Clubs. From all the staff and management at Taino, we can’t wait to see you down here!

History

Welcome & History replaceArne Petersen, founder and developer of Taino Beach Resort & Clubs, played a significant role in the timeshare and vacation ownership industry in Freeport. He also became the single largest owner of timeshare properties on Grand Bahama Island. Arne was an active member in the Bahamas Vacation Ownership Timeshare Council, and a major driving force in the development of current Bahamas Timeshare Legislation. Denmark was his country of birth, but the Bahamas was his country of choice. Arne was born on May 4, 1936 in the small town of Mollerup, in Central Jutland, Denmark. In 1977, he moved to the Bahamas and became totally assimilated in the Bahamian culture and its way of life. In 1991, he was granted Bahamian citizenship.

It is with absolute certainty that all those who have known Arne recognize the great contributions he made to the development of the Taino Beach Resort & Clubs, Grand Bahama and the Bahamian People, every member and guest as well as being an ambassador for Denmark and Vacation Ownership throughout the world.  Arne passed away February 9th, 2003.

Arne’s hard work and dedication over the last three decades will surely continue and we look forward to welcoming you back to Taino Beach Resort & Clubs.

COVID-19 Update

March 30, 2020 Dear Taino Family,   First and foremost, Taino Beach Resort & Clubs would like to say that our thoughts are with all of you as we all continue to deal with the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. At Taino Beach Resort we take great pride in making the safety of our guests and staff our top priority.  To do this we are following all of the COVID-19 Regulations imposed by the Bahamas Government in its Emergency Powers orders. As of March 29, there have been 14 confirmed cases (thankfully, no deaths) in the Bahamas.  The entire Bahamas is currently on a 24 hour curfew with all incoming passengers restricted from entering the country by air and sea. The Resort is waiting for the reopening of the borders before accepting guests. We have limited office staff and the current office hours for reaching the Reservation department (242-350-2200) are between 9am to 5pm Monday through Friday, although this is subject to change as regulations are amended. Any questions, concerns or reservations requests can also be done via email; we will do our best to respond within 48 hours. info@tainobeach.com reservations@tainobeach.com We wish you and your family well and we can’t wait to see you down here hopefully in the near future.
