Hurricane Dorian 2019 Update

October 21, 2019

Dear Members and friends,

We are so humbly thankful for all of those that took the time to send donations, either supplies or monetary as well as all the messages.  Our staff can’t even begin to thank all of the support that has been shown.

It has officially been almost 7 weeks since Hurricane Dorian made landfall in The Bahamas.  Grand Bahama has managed to resurface and float back to slight normality.  From West to East, communities have received an outpouring of donations from large to small non-profit organizations.  Restaurants and businesses are open.  Port Lucaya reopened on October 18th.

The Marlin and Coral buildings are open.  We will have an opening date for the Ocean and the Flamingo Hotel shortly.

Currently, Grand Bahama Island is accessible by Balearia Fast Ferry from Fort Lauderdale or flights from Nassau; Grand Celebration has resumed their service from Port of Palm Beach.

We have not received an update as to the re-opening date for the Airport for international commercial flights.

Please check back on our website for updates as well as follow Omar on Facebook.

The BEST way to help the Bahamas is to continue to visit.  We can’t wait to see you down here soon.

Sincerely,

Vanessa Neely

Resort Administrator

COVID-19 Update

March 30, 2020 Dear Taino Family,   First and foremost, Taino Beach Resort & Clubs would like to say that our thoughts are with all of you as we all continue to deal with the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. At Taino Beach Resort we take great pride in making the safety of our guests and staff our top priority.  To do this we are following all of the COVID-19 Regulations imposed by the Bahamas Government in its Emergency Powers orders. As of March 29, there have been 14 confirmed cases (thankfully, no deaths) in the Bahamas.  The entire Bahamas is currently on a 24 hour curfew with all incoming passengers restricted from entering the country by air and sea. The Resort is waiting for the reopening of the borders before accepting guests. We have limited office staff and the current office hours for reaching the Reservation department (242-350-2200) are between 9am to 5pm Monday through Friday, although this is subject to change as regulations are amended. Any questions, concerns or reservations requests can also be done via email; we will do our best to respond within 48 hours. info@tainobeach.com reservations@tainobeach.com We wish you and your family well and we can’t wait to see you down here hopefully in the near future.
